Sororities compete for Josh Abbott



          A competition between all sororities for the band Josh Abbott to play at their sorority house began last week. Girls are tweeting, status updating, and video making more than ever.  Whichever sorority shows the most Josh Abbott spirit wins a $2500 donation to philanthropy, private acoustic concert after a chapter meeting, and autographed cd's for every active member.

First runner up receives $1000 donation to philanthropy, private acoustic concert after a chapter meeting, 50 autographed cd's. Second runner up receives $250 donation to philanthropy, 25 autographed cd's.
This weeks top finalist are Arkansas Tri-Delt, Midwestern State Chi-O, Oklahoma A-Phi, Oklahoma Pi Phi, Ole Miss Kappa, Ole Miss Pi Phi, North Texas Kappa, Texas A-Chi-O, Texas A&M A-Chi-O, Texas State Zeta, and Texas Tech Pi Phi.
Mary Margaret Easley says, “If Kappa won $2,500 we would donate it toward our philanthropy towards children in Africa to learn reading; it is Fundamental, but also influences the lives of children in Africa.”Kappa Kappa Gamma has so far made two videos, and tweeted daily.

Along with the Josh Abbott spirit is also another local sorority. The girls of Pi-Phi are rolling out all of their creative tricks to grab Josh Abbott’s attention. Their philanthropy is also helping children learn how to read.
Juli Willeman, executive director of Pi Beta Phi says, “The mission of First Book, is to place a book in each child in need.”
