Ole Miss Parking

Students struggle for parking
During the first week of school students stood in line for hours at a time for their $75.00 parking decal. By the second week of school students off campus are driving around looking for any open parking spot they can find and still make it to class on time.
Some students will search for a spot so long that a class is missed altogether. Only to come back to a little white piece of paper charging $15.00-$90.00.
Suddenly, that $75.00’s is now doubled only for parking in a different lot.
Students respond outraged and are begging for a change as well as parents who are getting the bill.
Liz Grant, a mother of a fellow Ole Miss student responded by saying she was disappointed in not only her daughter, but for the campus not having enough parking. “With a family on a budget, a pile of campus parking tickets was the last thing I wanted to deal with,” says Grant.
Among all students, the need for a change is a must.  Some students contributed their ideas for a change. A Kappa Sigma member, Tyler Page, believes that “the students should be allowed to buy any parking pass so that you can park in any lot or build a parking garage.”
